RACE DAY DETAILS
When should you arrive on Race Day?
We recommend arriving at least 45 minutes prior to race start. This will give you enough time to sign in, pick up your packet and hear any announcements about the race.
Race Day Registration:
Registration will be open on race day. $35 day of race registration with meal included ($15 for children 10 and under). T-shirts are NOT guaranteed. There will be extra t-shirts to purchase at $10 per shirt, on a first come first serve basis. Please come early to sign up.

What is the color made of?
100% non-toxic and completely biodegradable colored starch.
Does it stain?
It will mostly wash out, but we recommend wearing items you don't mind being colored. If you want the color to last on your t-shirt, spray with vinegar & iron it before you wash it or try spray adhesive before the race, results will vary.
Feel free to wear bandanas, dust masks, safety glasses or costumes, if you are concerned with the color during the run. There will be options at each station to run around the color, if you choose not to be colored. Participants on the edges will receive the most amount of color, so if you only want a little, move to the center.
You may want to bring a change of clothes or towels for the ride home so you don't color your vehicle.
MISC Safety Tips:
- If running with a wheelchair or stroller, please stay to the right of the course.
- Bikes are welcomed; all bikers will be in the front of the race.
- Some paths will be unpaved, dirt or stone and uneven, use caution.
- Please be considerate of other participants and HAVE FUN!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the color made of?
The color powders are purchased from Color Blaze 5k and are non-toxic and made from all food grade ingredients.
What if I don’t want to be colored but still want to participate?
No worries! At each color station, there is an alternative route around the volunteers who will throw the color. If you don’t want to be colored, we suggest you go around the color throwers. You may still get a little dusting of color, but nothing near like you would go through the throwers!
Can I take pictures?
Of course! If you do bring your camera, phone, etc. we recommend keeping it in a plastic bag to keep the color out!
What about weather?
The event will take place rain or shine. In the unlikely event of severe weather, stay tuned to the event page at www.teamjackfoundation.org for updates. We’ll take precautions as recommended by the National Weather Service, but only in extreme cases will the event be postponed or cancelled. Your safety is our number one priority--your fun is our close second.
What if I have an ADA need?

Are kids allowed?
Yes, kids love to get colored just as much as the rest of us. This is a family friendly event, no age limit required.
Can my family watch?
Absolutely! We would encourage them to cheer you on during the race or at the finish line! Just be sure to give them a big hug at the finish line for coming to support you! :)
Can I Walk?
Walking is totally acceptable. You will be one of many who will be walking. We don't time the race and it is non-competitive, so you won't feel any pressure.
What if I don’t want to complete the full 3.1 miles?
No problem. If at any time you would like to turn around, feel free! Again, this is just a fun, un-timed event to help raise funds for childhood brain cancer.
How do I volunteer?
We'd love to have you come and help as a volunteer. On the event page, there is a section called “volunteer” where you can select a task. Volunteers typically throw color on the participants, and/or help with registration, and clean up.
Who does it benefit?
The run benefits the Team Jack Foundation and our mission to fund and raise awareness for pediatric brain cancer research. On most occasions, the Foundation works closely with a family affected by a disease in the location of the event, which is why the event is in “honor of” or “memory of” a child. 100% of the proceeds benefit the Team Jack Foundation.
Can I refund my registration?
Bummer, No, unfortunately, we will not offer a refund. You can still pick up your packet and race goodies, or you can transfer your registration to someone else up to 1 week prior to the event. Please email this information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can I transfer my registration?
Yes! You can transfer your registration to someone else up to 1 week prior to the event. In order to transfer registrations, please send the name, contact info, email, and shirt size of the person to whom the registration will be transferred to email@example.com. We can then take care of the rest.
Can you ship my packet to me?
Since we do not charge a shipping fee, we are unable to ship out any merchandise, color packs, and runner packs if the participant does not pick them up at the event.
Can I run with my pet?
For the safety of our participants and animal friends, we do not allow animals at our races.
Are bikes, wagons, strollers allowed?
Yes! Children and adults with bikes will be brought to the front of the group and will start the race first.
Are there age limits?
No way! Everyone is welcome to come! We do recommend that your kids are properly protected with sunglasses, and for toddlers and infants, maybe even something to cover their mouth. The powdered chalk is non-toxic and made mainly with corn starch, but it could irritate the smaller ones more than adults.
Will I be timed?
This is an un-timed event, just have fun!
When is packet pickup?
You can register and pick up your packet two hours before the event at the event site. IF you need to pick up registration packets prior to the event, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org and we will try to accommodate.
What is included with my registration?
Each registration provides entry into the event, a t-shirt (if registered before deadline), a Team Jack Foundation wristband, a meal ticket (if meals are provided for the specific event) and a color pack. Please note: you must register before designated deadline to receive a t-shirt.
What should I wear?
You can wear whatever you want but we suggest white clothing because it shows up the color the best.
Will the color stain my clothes, shoes, or makeup?
If you want a lot of color to hit your shirt, plan to run or walk closer to the color throwers. If you want only a little bit of color, run or walk in the farthest lane from the throwers. The color does mostly wash out after the event, but some of it can stain. As with anything, the sooner you wash it the better. We suggest wearing items that you wouldn't mind getting the color on.
Will the color get in my car?
We suggest bringing a towel or some plastic bags along. However, if you do get some in your vehicle, it can be dusted away or vacuumed easily.
Want to keep the color in your shirt?
After the run, take your shirt home and spray your shirt with vinegar and water mixture. Let the shirt dry completely. Place an old cloth in between your shirt and the iron. Iron both sides of the shirt and then proceed to wash the shirt as you normally would.
