Delaware 7th Grader Asks for Donations to Team Jack in lieu of Christmas Gifts

Thursday, January 2, 2020

Adam Coulter of Wilmington, Delaware is like most seventh graders in almost every way. What sets him apart from the others is his generous heart. This past Christmas season the Springer Middle School student didn't ask for Christmas gifts, but rather donations to the Team Jack Foundation to help kids with brain cancer.

Adam found Team Jack and after learning more about the Foundation and its mission, he encouraged people to donate to help fund pediatric brain cancer research. His favorite quote, "it doesn't cost anything to be kind," isn't just a quote to Adam, but a phrase to live by.

To date, Adam's efforts have raised nearly $700 to be used by the Team Jack Foundation to fund impactful childhood brain cancer research at the top institutions nation-wide. Since 2013, Team Jack has committed $8.5 million to research and will continue to invest in research to discover better treatments for kids with brain cancer and ultimately a cure. One of the goals of the Team Jack Foundation is to broaden the base of support out of the Midwest all the way to each coast and beyond. Adam's story is a testament that efforts to expand the reach is working! Families affected by child brain cancer need the support of the entire nation, as less than 4% of federal research dollars fund childhood cancer research and even less specifically on childhood brain cancer.

Inspired by Adam's story and want to join the fight? Make a difference with your special events by asking for donations to help Team Jack fund pediatric brain cancer research. Every dollar counts. Click here to learn more.
