COLUMBUS — Nebraska’s most beloved salad dressing, Home Style Dorothy Lynch, is partnering with the Team Jack Foundation to release the first-ever Dorothy Lynch-produced cookbook to raise funds for pediatric brain cancer research. Available for sale Nov. 2, “Home Style Heroes: Recipes For A Cure” contains 197 official Dorothy Lynch recipes for dips, sauces, appetizers, main dishes, sides and desserts.

“Throughout the years, we’ve accepted recipes from Dorothy Lynch lovers through our website, but have never produced a cookbook,” said Kim Bean, president of Tasty Toppings, Inc. “We’re excited to continue our long-standing partnership with Team Jack and publish a cookbook that gives back to a cause dear to our hearts, funding research for pediatric brain cancer.”

From May through the end of July, Dorothy Lynch fans were invited to submit original recipes using Dorothy Lynch for the cookbook. The community responded with several recipes for dips, appetizers, main dishes—and even a few desserts. In September, Dorothy Lynch narrowed the submissions to three recipes and asked its social followers to vote for their favorite fan-submitted recipe through social media. The award-winning recipe was Dorothy Lynch Kansas City Rib Rub, submitted by Craig Hellwig of Kansas City, Missouri.

Hellwig, whose daughter Maddie was diagnosed with pediatric brain cancer, first discovered Dorothy Lynch at the 2014 Team Jack Gala. In his recipe acknowledgment, Hellwig wrote, “We are a Team Jack family from Kansas City and appreciate everything Dorothy Lynch has done to fight this nasty disease that has touched our family and many more. I had used ketchup instead of dressing in this recipe until my wife got a free bottle at the 2014 Gala. I’ve used Dorothy Lynch instead of ketchup ever since.”

Published by Morris Press Cookbooks in Kearney, “Home Style Heroes: Recipes For A Cure” goes on sale Nov. 2 in the Team Jack online store in time for the holiday gift-giving season. The cookbook will retail for $15, taxes and shipping fees included. All proceeds from the cookbook will go to the Team Jack Foundation to support pediatric brain cancer research.
