Team Jack Reflects Back on 2016...

Thursday, December 22, 2016

As we near this year’s end, we at the Team Jack Foundation are reflecting on the year and have a lot to be thankful for…

For the first time in her life, Emma is finally getting a break from treatments. Emma celebrated her 4th birthday on May 24th. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor on January 2nd 2013. On December 14th, 2016, her family received wonderful news that their daughter had another stable scan and as Emma said “We got good news!!”

On October 2, 2006, a month after Caleb turned four years old, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Caleb, who when diagnosed was given just eight weeks to live, celebrated his 10th anniversary from being cancer free. Though he is cancer-free, he still suffers from lasting effects from his treatments. On December 1, 2016, Caleb had knee surgery, his 30th surgery in his lifetime.

Members of the Team Jack Family: Seth, Oliver, Kallie, Jessica, Alex, Grady, Katelyn, and more, had clear routine MRIs. Each and every family is so thankful for all of the prayer warriors and supporters that are behind these strong kiddos.

The Team Jack Foundation received their single largest donation to date of $175,000 from a private donor. We are so thankful for this gift. Our efforts to fund research for pediatric brain cancer would not be as successful as it is without our loyal volunteers, supporters, and donors.

Team Jack Foundation’s Board Chair, Andy Hoffman received the 2016 Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award where the Foundation was granted a $100,000 donation from The NASCAR Foundation. After months of voting, we were so pleased to hear the news that the Team Jack community would come home with this victory. This award was also an amazing opportunity to spread awareness of our cause to raise funds for pediatric brain cancer research across the nation.

The Team Jack Foundation has so much to be thankful for this year. We are thankful for each of you for supporting our cause. From of all of us at the Team Jack Foundation, we wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  Thank you for helping us fight for a cure.
